Sorry if this is in the wrong section I thought it was pretty important to share. I was effected as were 143 million americans. They are offering free monitoring for a year. Go to equifaxsecurity2017.com to check if you were one of the people effected. Click on potential impact then need last 6 of social.
 
This one is pretty serious I was affected by this as well I'm sure a lot on here where.
 
1 year monitoring is useless. fraudsters keep this info and use it in the future. In theory they should offer it for life, but that is another topic for another day.
If any one is concerned about this stuff ( which you should be), they need to check their credit history on a regular basis ( at least 2 a year).
 
If you don't already you should already be paying for a credit monitoring service. Even without this breach your info was already at risk.
