So normally I would not post this about this kind of store but they were great today. So as normal in my house nothing is were its supposed to be. So I started gathering my boating stuff for upcoming trips and realized the charger from my Standard Horizon HX150 was not with the radio. After 2 hours of searching I believe the same person who breaks into my home and steals one sock at a time must have taken the charger for the radio as well. I went to West Marine which I usually do not shop at unless I need a specialty item that day such as this case since I needed the radio for this weekend. I asked the man at the counter if they sold chargers for this unit and he said no (which is my typical luck) but asked me told hold on a minute. A few minutes later he walked out of the back room with a charger in hand and gave it to me free of charge. This basically just saved me $100 as I was going to suck it up and buy a new radio and just have two of them with one charger. He said that when people return radios that are not working they usually keep the chargers (which is great info to know now) I thanked him and decided to buy the other boating items I intended to go get from a different store later this afternoon from them while I was there. He changed my opinion on West Marine and I will likely over look the few dollars they are higher then most other places in the future and give them more purchases.

I shop there some and at Overtons, which has a store nearby too. They are always very helpful when in the store. Glad that one really worked out for you as that would have been pricey otherwise.

We shop the same two stores waterboy... we just hate going to capital Blvd for west marine!

That's awesome @robert843 that they took good care of you. It seems as though people have turned to Internet purchasing for better pricing and let's face it customer service in the brick and mortar stores has been lacking these days. I'm like you, I wouldn't mind paying a bit more to be treated like a valued customer.

Also great to know about where to find a replacement charger. Thanks for posting.
