There are so many spots to hit from North Texas Hawk. It is a distance but with time and the 5th wheel, what incredible memories can be made. When I was 15-17, we had an early version of the Class A motorhome, a Dodge 27' Travco. We did 3 separate month long vacations starting from Dallas. In the SE, you have the civil war battlegrounds across the south including Vicksburg. Of course that trip might include New Orleans, gulf coast, Memphis (say hi to Elvis), Nashville, Chattanooga, and the smoky mountains. That same trip stretched long enough can take you to Key West or north to DC, NY, even Boston and Maine, and across the Great Lakes and south down the Mississippi basin. Probably best to break this into several trips.
A westward run will include, Palo Duro Canyon, the different Pueblos in NM and AZ including Albuquerque, Taos, Santa Fe, Durango/Silverton narrow gauge railway (incredible), Canyon De Chelly, cliff dwellings, Monument valleys, Lake Powell, Glen Canyon Dam, Grand Canyon NP, Zion NP, Bryce Canyon NP, Las Vegas, Hoover Dam, Yosemite, California (includes many places like the Napa, the redwoods, Death Valley, and more), up into Oregon and WA for a little salmon fishing, Seattle and Vancouver with the sound, ferry rides, Victoria, across the Canadian Rockies and the badlands (Mt. Rushmore), Yellowstone NP, Devils Tower, and down through the central US.
I had the good fortune at a young age to see all of these places up close and personal. All I can say is this land is awesome! Enjoy your travels and get a good camera!
