Anyone seen the news where last week they found a bunch of packages dumped off a FedEx truck and thrown into a ravine here in Alabama? They have the guy but are being real tight lipped about the investigation for some reason. If that wasn’t strange enough, today they found yet another FedEx package dump site several counties away. No idea if the two dump sites are from the same FedEx driver but it’s strange someone or people are doing this. It’s bad enough with the supply chain issues, but ever worse around the holidays when people are expecting gifts and other packages to arrive to their door. Is this going on in your state as well? Very strange someone would do this. Not even sure if it’s a federal crime since it’s sort of tampering with mail but I hope those involved are held accountable. Curious if this is going on in your state as well and if it’s some kind of stupid trend or Tiktok challenge BS.

I feel this happens every year. I've long learned I will never understand people and stopped trying. I have accepted that people are wired so different from me I cannot understand the things they do. Some people are just flat out stupid/ignorant/selfish.

I had a fairly large and pricey fedex shipment lost over the summer and they ended up replacing the item right away. You’d think it would be really easy for them to notice whole truckloads getting lost by the same idiot within a day or two with all the tracking you can do now.

This is Fedex ground which is a contractor service not Fedex express.

There is a huge difference in the quality of driver. A high school friend with felonies and a record of theft was offered multiple Fedex ground routes.

Dumping the rest of the packages would allow for going home early or doing something else during the shift as these trucks often are not tracked.

This discovery likely solved some unsolved porch thefts.

They would be out of luck for me, and I suspect many, as I would have camera footage showing the package was never at my house.

Disgruntled employee sounds about right on this deal. Dump the truckload and quit your job knowing that the franchise owner will have to answer to corporate.

Back in college I knew people who knew people that worked at UPS and was offered brand new iphones for $100. Seemed stupid since phones are about the easiest thing on the planet to track, but that didn't stop them from stealing them and selling them.

possibly part of a "brushing" scam. Easier to pay off the driver to dump it than to worry about unsolicited packages being reported and traced back.

Very east to change the IMEI on a cellphone if you know what your doing. I worked in cell phone stores throughout my whole 20s. Don't ask me how I know?
