If you do a couple searches on packing a rope bag, you can easily just push the rope into the locker without fear of it tangling. It's the same technique.

Here is a quick video I found of a guy packing a rope bag.

It's really just throwing it into the locker naturally without ANY attempt to coil it.

What sort of rope do you use? I just let mine pile up on itself in the anchor locker as i pull in the anchor and have never had a tangle.

Great, now I have to wear jeans to the lake... :arghh::arghh:

Same here. You pile it on itself and then when you throw the anchor it unpiles. Not sure how this can be more simplified??? i really don't want to be attached to the anchor line with a carabiner either.....

The absolute worst thing to do with rope and extension cords is to do the "wind around your arm deal". Feed it naturally into the anchor locker and let it out slowly when anchoring again.

Get one of these. Your anchor line should have a steel thimble or whatever its called in the loop of the anchor line.

I recently bought a large gauge anchor rope.....having trouble attaching it to the Anchor Chain........What are some decent strong options folks use here?

I think the rope may be too big a diameter actually....

found this, but don't trust it:

these would destroy paint !! but I trust them

Stop! Dont use those two items listed. You should use the back splice method to attach the rode to a length of chain then use the shackle waterboy shows to attach the chain to the anchor.

I agree, I'm just too lazy to figure out how to splice like that. Maybe if I had a real boat like you to drive around on all day I'd take the time to figure that out :) Well that and if I was anchoring out overnight etc where my life depended on it.

Also adding for the OP. Just feed in the line as others have said. Easy and no tangles either. I have a 100 ft line and never a tangle (unless my wife or daughters get a hold of it, then they always find a way to tangle things)

Adding a swivel at the anchor helps keep those twists and unruly rodes to a minimum.

If you are saying to buy a pre spliced anchor rode......yes that is a great idea but it sounds like justason already purchased a blank rode.

Rode.... never knew it. I bought a rope (lowe's) to upgrade from the "twine" I had......but it is not a rode. I'll snag some of the 3 braid at try and finish it up myself per that video !

I'm a bosun and like to use all that correct terminology. ;)
