Sweet!

I will but I have a month or two. I will be storing in a climate controlled building so it shouldn't be an issue.

Congrats...are you really taking it to the Bahamas:eek:
I dont take mine further than I can swim ashore LOL:banghead:

Defiantly taking it to the Bahamas.

Congrats on the new boat. Look forward to hearing about your adventure! IF your going to go all they way to Nassau I would just continue on to Exuma. Nassau is a great stopping point to refuel and maybe spend one night but I wouldn't want it to be my final destination. You can easily make it to Nassau in one day as well if the conditions are ok heck I think you could possibly make it to Exuma in one day if everything went quick at customs. When we went to the Exumas this past year we made it back from Staniels Cay to Bimini in one day and could have easily made it back to Ft Lauderdale in that same day if we wanted. Next time we do that trip I think Exuma will be shot for in one day with Nassau being the back plan as a layover.

We actually plan on staying in Nassua for 5 days.
The plan is to make the run to exuma which ever day has the best weather conditions.

You can pick which ever day you like its all really shallow water past Nassau it would take serious weather to really kick it up. In our 5 days down there we only had moderate seas one day. The Atlantic side of the islands can get rough but there is no need to go over there unless you really desired. It could be a little rough when you first leave Nassau but will quickly clean up once you get near Highbourne Cay. I would still highly recommend spending those 5 days in the Exumas once you guys go down there for the one day I think you will really regret staying 5 days in Nassau. Nassau really doesn't have a ton of great boating and the water outside of the channel can be rough. If my final destination was Nassau I would just fly and go I do understand the adventure of doing it but after doing our trip I don't think there is any way I would take a boat to Nassau as my final destination as it would kind of be a waste of money and time when I could fly there so cheaply. I'm sure you have seen the Kevin and Corrie videos and I was in a conversation with them about someone who was planning the same trip to Nassau and they had the same opinion and after doing the trip I do understand why. Either way you will have a great time but just wanted to throw it out there to you.

I agree exuma is the place to be. Nassua has its perks also. We wanted to enjoy the casino and Atlantis.
Lodging is much cheaper in Nassua than exuma so with a group as big as ours it works. Where did you stay in exuma? How many days did you spend in Exuma? I'm sure we will spend two days at minimum exploring Exuma.

We spent 5 nights in Exuma. We stayed at Staniel Cay as it was one of the few islands with fuel. Several of us rented a house called Gibraltar and few others stayed at Embrace resort I think it was called link are below. Gibraltar was $1000 a night but that was $250 per couple and the others spent about $250 per night at Embrace as well. Are group did also spend one night in Nassau and one night in Chub cay but neither of those was by choice Chub Cay was out of fuel so had to wait there till the morning to fuel and we had to leave a day early on our trip due to weather conditions so we had an extra day to kill and decided to spend it in Nassau. There are only two fuel stops in the Exuma's Staniels Cay and Highbourne Cay so keep those in mind when traveling down there outside of there you have to go all the way to Great Exuma which is way south. Compass Cay was descent spot to stop and chill but no fuel there. How many skis and how many boats do you have going?

I looked at those also. Cool places! This isn't going to be our last trip. Maybe we will spend more in exuma 2018

Currently we have

3 possibly 4 boats

3 skis currently but we have received a ton of emails requesting to cross with us.
We are going to be extremely strict on people we allow to cross with us this year.
Must be in great shape. Must be able to manage your own vessel!!!

I couldn't agree more I would be very selective on who you bring on a trip of that distance. All it takes is one boat or ski deciding they want to cruise along at 15-20 mph and it could make your whole trip miserable. I would even consider splitting the skis and boats up there is a chance if the seas are a little rough the skis will not be able to keep up with the boats and instead of slowing your trip down it would allow both groups to go at there own pace and it does go the other way in excellent conditions the skis will be able move along faster then the boats. Also be prepared with fuel if you don't want to stay in Chub as its not that uncommon it appears for them to be out or not pumping fuel.

Exactly!!! Hit the nail on the head there!!
My scarab burns about 8 gallons per hour cruising at 25mph in perfect conditions.

Hell that is better than our skis lol

We will defiantly have two groups for that exact reason.
All in all I'm not the least bit worried about our core group.
I'll be happy if we can cruise at 25-30 mph.

25 to 30 is what we probably averaged on the trip to Nassau. I wouldn't say we had good conditions by any stretch but didn't have aweful either. If you don't go at least that speed I think you will have a hard time making it to Nassau in one day as its just a lot of hours on the water. That perspective is coming from a jet ski however. The skis will be pretty beat when you get to Chub unless you get really good weather. For example, if you ran 20mph you would have around 8 hours on the water of pure running. That doesn't include time in Bimini, breaks on water, eating, etc. Between the sun/heat, salt water, and pounding chop when you all get to Chub you may have some not wanting to make another 2+ hour journey across a very deep section of ocean. My advice would be to have plans to stay in Chub if needed but certainly have Nassau as the goal. It will not matter in reality where you stop after day one because everyone will be tired and you will not be up to doing much else that evening.

I really look forward to hearing more updates as your trip nears.
