My wife and I picked up our first boat a few days ago and as you can imagine we are chomping at the bit to hit the water! We purchased jet skis last season and beat ourselves up too bad, so we decided to turn them into a jet boat this season. We also would like to visit new water here in Ky that we haven't seen before. If anyone is from this area we would love to meet up and hit your local party cove. We have pretty much allocated every weekend of this Summer to being on the water one way or another =)

I picked mine up 8 days ago. We love it. It has so many options that you have to pay for in other boats. Love the trash can, table, and connext instrument panel with a wealth of info. Slow speed maneuvers still take some getting used to compared to my OB

Awesome! My wife and I actually have hotel reservations at Timber Pointe Lodge in July. We plan on slipping overnight at Jamestown Marina there. I've marked some places on Navionics 76 Falls and Harmon Creek Cove. We are excited!

Congrats on the new boat and welcome to the forum. Little advice with a 190 is don't expect it to he a speed demon and dont listen to anything on boattest.com about it and you will love it.

Thanks! I noticed it wasn't a rocket when we test drove it. If I can cruise at 30mph I'll be really happy. My friends have outboards and thats about the clip they like to run. I just want to keep up with the pack.

Yeah you can totally do that on my 2017 that puts me at 6500-7000 rpm but when I'm not with others I just set it on 6k and that puts me at 22-24mph

Is the 6500-7000 rpm WOT range on this boat. We tested it on a very small test lake at the dealer. I was able to get it to 30mph at WOT in a few seconds before I had to throttle back and turn. It wasn't enough time to determine if the boat was still accelerating. It's small stuff I guess I'm just wondering these things. Hopefully I'll be able to make it to the lake this week just to run it for an hour or two and get a feel for it before this weekend when my wife and I go and the launches are alot busier

Wot is 7400-7600 the rev limiter is some where between 7600-7800 dont remember exactly but these engines don't seam to mind sustained high revs. I'm also at 800ft above sea level for reference.

We are around 500ft above see level here in Ky on average at our lakes. Thanks so much for the info Mike, I really appreciate it! Super glad we joined the Yamifamily this year

Sorry to jump on this thread. Search Kentucky and this was most recent post. Couldn’t figure out how to start post without putting in recipients. Just pulled the trigger and bought a boat. A Yamaha SX190 for me and the wife. We Live in Lexington Ky and plan to spend time down at Lake Cumberland and other lakes in KY and Tenn.

Looking for advice and suggestions for....
1. Best Lakes in those areas
2. Best launch location at Cumberland
3. Suggestions for dry dock, storage Locations or slip at Cumberland and best cost
4. Best area at Lake Cumberland (in our 40s) for some quiet time but also time for water sports.
Any Suggestions or tips appreciated. Thanks

Hey Yeary! My wife and I just bought our 2020 SX190 as well. We live in the Elizabethtown, Ky area, also in our 40's. We have reservations at Timber Point Resort at Jamestown Marina, Lake Cumberland on July 25th. Plan to boat out to 76 Falls, it's a real nice waterfall cove, and plan to explore the lake (since we get killer gas mileage on the SX190 =) Would be awesome to meet up with another Yamifam. We will be visiting other lakes in Ky also. We are closest to Nolin Lake, Rough River Lake, and Green River lake. We call those our big 3 weekenders. We are close enough to make day trips out on those lakes without paying for slippage and lodging. Welcome to the family and feel free to add me on Facebook if you want to shoot the shit about boats and maybe meet up for an adventure sometime on some new water.

Thanks! May do that I’ll mark it on the calendar. I’ll give you a heads up if we decide to. Got to learn the ropes of boating.

Congratulations! Beautiful and classy boat. Let us know your speed and handling when you hit the lake. Thanks. Looking to buy soon here as well (currently own a pontoon 90 HP Suzuki outboard). Leaning towards AR190 or SX190. How’s gas mileage and range? Thanks
