First Crabs of the Fall...

Is it only males that you can keep? What sizes need to be released?

You can keep both males and females unless the females have eggs visible. Typically you don't want to keep anything under 4 inches point to point.

Now if your observing best practices then typically you throw all females back.

Regulations down here in FL are wide open compared to back home on the Chesapeake.

Yea, I wouldn't keep any females, just didn't know the rule. 4" point to point sounds good!

When does the season close or is it open all year?

Open all year...on the Atlantic

Thanks CT. We'll be in FL (Daytona Beach Shores) late November and see plenty in the Halifax. Good to know it's open. I always worry when we are down with what's in season, what you can keep.
