I am buying my first boat and being a virgin I need help into what I should do when picking up the boat? should I request it to be delivered on the water to see how it works? Take delivery on shore? I have purchased a 2017 212 limited S brand new. Please help.

Where are you? In addition to thorough inspection, if your are total virgin i would suggest asking for a demo/lesson/overview on your boat. It's not hard, but you don't know what you don't know.

Even if you are not a boat virgin, i would request demo. Things are a bit different than a typical I/O.

Make sure the extras that are supposed to be there are there. Mine was missing the owners manual and the cover for the Connext which the dealer ended up ordering (or taking from another boat). Should be a cover on the rear Polk remote. I hear those things like to disappear on last years models.

Make sure it has the two bow filler cushions, the back seat center cushion, both table legs (and table). Also the fire extinguisher which will probably be mounted by the batteries.

If you have the option, get the shipping cover. Even if you get the mooring cover (mine came with mooring cover as bonus). I did not get one and kind of regret. If it does come with the mooring cover, try to get the black one. My boat originally came with a grey one and I had them switch it with another 2017 for the black one.

My boat was a factory demo so had ~20 hours on it. Make sure to get details on what the last service included (and that it was serviced before giving to you).

If you bought it at River Valley they will be more than happy to put it in the lake and show you everything you need to know.
I’ve been very happy with their customer service.

I LOVE River Valley!! Best buying experience hands down. I just was not sure how to pick it up. I think it is just the nerves of wanting to get on the F#@$ing water.
