So took our brand new boat out for the first time recently and I just have to comment on the fact its much louder then I anticipated it from the demo. I understand full throttle noise, but 0-25 noise is obnoxious. Overall I enjoyed the boat, very smooth ride, got to 52mph with 2 people and 80% fuel, down stream on rock river, 47 mph up stream.

I will say the noise was obnoxious with radio news as well. Overall.. i will say I enjoy everything I purchased but the noise.

Welcome to the forum @Don R
Is it possible that some of the hatch seal has shifted to allow noise to escape?
There are a number of Yamaha owners in your area that are available to help with any hands on issues. Perhaps we will see you on the water this summer.

Thanks for to the welcome, I'll check motor hatch, I am pretty sure I am just being overly detailed.

Where do you boat Buck?

Welcome to the forum. I have a 2016 242 Limted SE, and although there is noise, I dont notice it being any louder than my previous stern drive. And 0-25 noise is actually pretty quiet!

Have your local dealer see if they can quiet it down. Mine was able to quiet down mine considerably less for under $200 for some more sound proofing in engine bay. Love the black and red! Congrats on an awesome boat
