Yesterday was the first time I winterized my boat. Used stabil as well as fogging oil and anti freeze. After I am done with everything I cranked up the engines for 10-15 seconds to make sure that the engines are running. When cleaning up the boat I noticed this blue content at bottom of the boat between the engines. Should I be worried ?

The Yamaha fogging oil I use is blue like that. However, not sure how any would have gotten there. Where did you spray your fogging oil into the engine? Maybe you accidently sprayed outside the engine?

Still don't think it's anything to worry about. Just curious why it's outside the engine.

I actually had it as a puddle of blue and that worries me. Does it happen if air filter is not put back in properly ?

I sprayed at air filter intake and in the engine after removing the spark plugs.

If your oil is blue Check your oil coolers for leaks but I think it is more likely antifreeze. Is the anti freeze you used the same color? If so where/how did you use it to winterize your boat?

Antifreeze is pink. The only blue stuff I used is stabil and fogging spray. The anti freeze is gravity fed by my holding the container high. Will check the oil coolers. Thanks

Do you mean that you sprayed into the openings in filter boxes? If that is the case, and the filters were not removed, you may have those soaked in fogging oil that just drips back.

Bright blue stuff is not coming out of the engines. Anything coming out of them will be dirty. So you can relax about it being an engine issue. I think it must be overspray from fogging.

First time fogging it. i might have been overly generous with the spray. :)

I removed the air filter and then sprayed into the opening. I read in one of the articles to use atleast half a can of the spray per engine. Now i think it might have been too much .

the fogging oil most likely ran back toward the filter, puddled at the bottom of the filter box, leaked out and ran to the center of the engine bay. not too much to worry about, but if you take out your filters, i would bet they are soaked with oil

@Amar Nanduri , Just curious,Was the engine running when you fogged the engine?

If I can find them You can have my stock filters for the cost of shipping if you want / need them. One has some minor oil spots/splatter on it but I think they are both fine. I replaced them with r&d versions a few seasons ago.

Hi Ronnie. Yes the engines were running at idle speed when I was fogging the engines. When you say stock filters do you mean the oil filters provided as part of the oil change kit? I did buy the oil change kits but decided to change the oil in Spring (wanted to change them yesterday as part of winterization but this blue liquid at the bottom gave me pause). If these filters you mention are not the same then Yes I will grab your filters and will pay the cost of shipping. If they are the same as the oil change filters I appreciate your offer, but I should be good on them.

Thanks
Amar

I'm referring to the air filter elements that go into the air filter boxes. The elements are about 1 sq. Ft. each and maybe 2" thick. I will look for them when I get home today and send you pics of the same if I can find them.

Thanks Ronnie. Much appreciated.

Here are the pics of the air filters if yours are cleaner i recommend that you keep using them instead.

The first pic is of the yellow sides which don't show any dirt build up. The remaining pics are of the white sides which do show some dirt build up, I didn't see any oil on either of the filters.

Glad you figured out where the blue stuff came from and that it wasn't a leaking oil cooler.

Thank you Ronnie. I will check my filters this weekend when I do my weekend visits to my boat in its parking space. Much appreciated.

Best
Amar..
