glad to have you on board, is this your first boat? where do you plan on boating at?

No we have had a 2004 18ft Caravelle Bowrider for the past 3 years just learning and exploring. We put 140 hrs on it this past summer which I believe is a good amount. Our go to place is the Illinois river for just relaxing, water sports and bringing the dogs. The Chicago River we do to entertain our out of town guests or visit friends downtown (only way to get me to the city). We have done Lake Michigan the past 3 years for the air and water show as well. This summer we stayed and boated in Waupaca WI, Mosinee WI, Lake Geneva and Lake Allegan MI.

Congrats and welcome!!!

Congratulations! But trust me... Hanging out here isn't free! It is going to cost you a lot in the mods you'll see and want to make!

Congrats on the boat and welcome to a great forum. Which lake in Waupaca? Can you also give me some info on the lake, depth, in your opinion is it a good sot for water sports? I can't wait for my kids to get older I dream of 140 hours in a summer. I avg about 20 hours a year however we spend a lot of our time playing on a sand bar that you can see from the landing.

We always stay on the waupaca chain o lakes. Long Lake and rainbow lake are great for water sports. Channels between the lakes can get shallow around 3 feet but are clearly marked. The lakes are extremely deep glacier lakes 60-90ft in places. I don’t think you can find clearer water it looks like the Caribbean!

U know a guy stalks the forums when the first post has a picture of the boat!

Welcome @Augieol65
There are a number of us in this area. Stay tuned as we do things together in the summer and would love to meet your family.

Congrats!

I just got out of Illinois but a couple months ago I was almost your neighbor. Born and raised in New Lenox but downtown Plainfield the last 4 years. My father in law is in Downers.
