Has anyone ever mounted a flag onto their pwc? I've been considering doing it for fun to round out our lake season later this year.

Thanks, Zac

Oh nice! Thanks

How did you mount those up? I'm looking for a DIY if possible.

I went the "I hate money" route.

Kool PWC Stuff cooler racks w/ rod holders & coolwaterproducts flag poles/clips.

$660 to the door for 2 racks with 2 rod holders each and rotopax gas plates on both.

$120? ish for all the flag poles and clips

Hahaha I see! But the result is awesome!

I have the same rack as @veedubtek but with an offset rod holders to hold my spearguns. Solid product but want to build a mounting plate to distrubte load if used for long term hauling and rough waters.

I'm going to "attempt" to work up a DIY solution for this weekend. It will be getting a bath too. The fglass feels super gritty to the touch! :(

I came up with my initial design. It will consist of 3/4" PVC and have a half square base to support the drag induced by the flag. The flag pole will go up near my head height and the bottom will reach the base of the ski. At the base there will be a T-Fitting which splits it to either side of the ski's rear platform. Finally a 90 degree joint to create that half square shape that turns the PVC to the rear of the platform. To make it all stable? A small length of paracord will link the flag pole to the tow hook just under the seat.

2hrs. later it occurs to me that this is a Yamaha, so I will make an extension off the right leg (if needed, will test first) to have a 45 degree to deflect the spray.

Or disable the spray. It drove me nuts.

Same here. I put a valve on to turn on only if needed in bad weather for viability but I have to turn it on since installing.

You just disconnected the hose from the deck correct? If so, did you trim the hose or secure it. I ask because I was going to pull mine but thought it might interfere with the bucket.

I was going to do this before the Exumas trip but decided against because I was concerned the pressure might blow the hose and cause me more issues while out there. So I just left it stock. Glad to know it works without issue though.

I bought a stainless steel valve from I think McMaster Carr? and stainless hose clamps and trimmed the hose to fit. Been on 15 hours no issues with heavy ocean riding in 2-3'. Love it since I hate worrying about the spray at the dock spinning around.

My hose is just disconnected. I keep meaning to buy a valve, but I've been saying that 6 months now. Maybe one day, but it hasn't hurt anything down there. On my VXR I was able to reach in and take it off the pump as well, don't seem to have the room for that on these 2

I will be reunited with my ski this weekend so once I get it built I will post pictures. In the mean time I am heading out to grab some materials! :)

Got about 15ft of pvc extra for mistakes and a bunch of fittings. Post up tomorrow!
