Flat Earthers

In this day and age I simply can't comprehend the ludicrousness of it all. At first I thought it was just a meme or stupid troll a few years ago when this was popping up but no. There are actual people on this planet, people you work with and see every day, that think the planet is as flat as a pancake . They will try and debunk science with youtube videos from some unknown someone but none of them can show you where the edge of this supposed flat earth is. Where is this all coming from you may ask? Well I'm a huge space geek and big fan of space exploration. Watching the SpaceX Falcon Heavy launch last week was freaking amazing!! Seeing those two boosters land simultaneously gave me huge hope that our space exploration and vision to go beyond satellites and missile defense systems may not be dead after all. What I didn't expect to see was all these flat earthers coming out of the wood work saying it's all a hoax. That we're all brain washed by some "elitists" (whatever that means) who call the shots for thousands of years. Like these mythical elitists (are they supposed to be Gods or just powerful people ) are just pulling strings of puppets (us) and we are just "normies" living a lie we were told lol. I mean what kind of drugs do these people take to come up with this junk? I can only assume this level of thought is somehow related to ingesting Tide Pods. Sorry I'm on here venting but I've just watched a handful of "flat earther conspiracy" videos on YT and I think they flattened any brain cells I may have accumulated over my 40+ years. I need a stiff drink now and a cig

Oh I don't and would never actively engage with them. As you said you can't fix stupid . I just find the whole entire thing completely bat shit crazy cakes. Maybe I was just in denial thinking surely this can't be a thing. I thought surely these people were just a bunch of trolls looking to make a meme of it but no, these people are certifiable ding bats. I blame Tide Pods!

Until about 4 months ago I worked for a NASA contractor. Part of my job was quite literally talking with astronauts aboard the ISS as they worked through scientific experiments that utilized the hardware my team had designed and built. To say I was neck deep in the space program would be an understatement.

It never fails to amaze me at the number of people that would tell me (not ask, but tell) that NASA, or anything else space program related was nothing more than an elaborate hoax. The best was always after I explained what I did, and often showed them my NASA badge, that they would reply with something along the lines of "sure must be nice to play along".

Had a former co-worker that sat in front of me, that believed the earth was flat. We roasted her so bad, our manager finally had to put a stop to it because she was probably getting to the point of calling HR. We argued for a few days, and all of her points were moot. I warn everyone not engage these people - logic cannot be used with them and you will only walk away frustrated and dumb-founded. The best part though is the giant 14,000 mile ice wall, completely guarded by the Navy.

I just read something that said NASA did a study and discovered the perfect nap time is 26 minutes..... maybe the flat earthers are on to something lol.
