I am undecided, but I think it would be less expensive then buying grill, stanchion, adapters, tools backing plate et cetera.

Cool idea, till the local clown on his wake boat comes roaring up and everything goes bye bye.
@kgower But it is single purpose. With the one on the stanchion you can use it in all types of weather and pre and post season. would be tough to sit on the swim deck and use this floating in the water I would think.
And yes, I went against what I said I was going to do and broke down and purchased the stanchion from @HailMary.

Why not just plop something like this in the shallows? Less expensive, larger cooking area, folds up.

Better than a grill attached to the boat in my opinion. no fire hazards and if so just splash it.
