For those who have installed tower speakers

What size holes did you drill in tower for the wiring to go through? I am in the middle of installing my tower speakers and started with a 1/2" hole. It needs to be a little bigger. Also, are you guys using any type of grommet to protect the wiring from the sharp edges after drilling? I picked up a couple grommets at Ace Hardware, but I don't think they are going to work.

I can't recall the size of the hole I drilled off the top of my head but I can tell you that the grommets I bought wouldn't work with the type and size of speaker wiring I bought.
So, I used an waterproof sealant and I just looked-zero rusting around the drilled holes and it looks like it's holding up well.

ok cool. Think I will drill them to 3/4" and be done with it. I will not need grommets because the speaker mount will cover the hole. Also, I am pretty sure my tower is aluminum so not worried about rust.

I can't recall either but my is closer to an inch around tho.
