I want the batteries sold in similar terms! That's the ticket.

Literally “batteries not included”. I suspect the suspension/frame to be the key. Sounds like a great opportunity for body on frame platforms.

Hmmm...how do I mount those in my Yamaha?

Only thing I don't like about it is the camber on the rear wheels. Just looks odd on a pickup. Clearly just an F100 body on a MachE chassis, which is neat and all, but doesn't quite fit the "theme" of the crate motor they're selling.

Want to show me that a crate motor works? Put it in an old Pinto and go drag racing with it. I don't want a show vehicle, I want something that looks like it was drug out of a corn field, retrofitted with new tech, and is actually doing some work.

@2kwik4u I owned a 73 Pinto and that name and drag racing should never be included in the same sentence.

It’s an interesting concept. I think truck (body / battery on frame) applications are where this makes sense… today.

However as battery tech increases and size and weight decrease, I’d be very interested to see how this could apply to my wife’s 75 corvette.

They're light and easy to swap big power into.

Look like dammit and are of questionable quality, but that's what life insurance is for right???

:)

Hey, I know this is an old thread, but I can't start my jetboat and no one will work on it, so I have been intrigued by the possibility of repowering my Boston Whaler Rage 15 with an electric motor. Would it even be possible to convert the drive orientation of this motor to power a boat or is it only going to work in the replacement of the rear end of a car/truck?

Or, do you know anyone that knows anything about a 1997 Mercury Sportjet 175xr2 that can help me get this thing started?
