I continue to research the FPS chart plotting options out there and have gotten a lot of good feedback. Does anyone know of any of them that have good forward scanning? Primary usage thought is the shallows down at the coast in NC. Can go from 12 ft to 12 inches quickly.

@Wright2e ......I'm guessing that charts for this area aren't too reliable as sand bars may shift a lot? I have had Radar+FLIR+ forward scan. IMO if it comes with your electronics package no foul but to purchase it separately all it does at 35+ MPH is give you time to say "Oh $hit".

Good point and yea the sand shifts a lot around there. I wouldn’t be going that fast out there but definitely seems like it would help in navigating shallows.

my recommendation would be to get something that has navionics maps that can be community updated. Hook it up to wifi before you head out for the day and get an update. Allegedly that's one of the ways the raymarine axiom 7 says it can update its maps.
