I have a chip as well. Apparently, sending a replacement or getting it recoated locally is harder than digging the Panama canal. I am just going to use some appliance paint to fill in the chip. From what I have read, this works well with powder coat touch-ups.
I had a corrosion issue start at the base of mine. The powder coat started to flake off. At the same time the paint was falling off the joints. I filed a warranty claim for that and several other fiberglass QC issues and to my surprise, everything except one thing was completed, my windshield started crazing and I wanted it replaced ( they gave me 250.00 to either buy a new one or purchase Anything from the Yamaha store). They fully repowdercoated the entire T Top and some hired out for some decent fiberglass work. I have to say I am pretty impressed with Yamaha’s warranty commitment so far.
