I want a cover that will go-over the entire boat, covering the sides and back swim-deck.
Has anyone done this? Do most just buy a huge tarp? Ideally, I'd put this cover on when I park the boat to prevent sun/elements damage when it sits on the trailer. This cover will be in addition to the yamaha stock cover I have now, that covers just the inside of the boat (not sides or swim-deck).

I have posted about this before, and one person said Walmart carries what I am looking for, but all of these look like "top only" covers, not sides.

Thank you

For me the factory mouring cover is sufficient to cover the top of the boat but I wanted something to cover the vertical sides to prevent sun damage. For my storage situation I only needed to protect the front half of my boat. I believe you could extend what I did to go all the way around the boat.

What I did what built a skirt out similar material to the factory yamaha cover to block the sun from fading gelcoat. The skirt is made out of Marine One XP fabric which we found it on ebay and was fairly reasonable in price, $5.95 a yard, http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=MARINE ONE fabric&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0&_nkw=MARINE ONE fabric&_sacat=0. This is flexible light weight fabric. We made a pocket in the fabric and ran 1/4" bungee cord through it which is used to hang the skirt from 4 cleats.

I used these hooks to secure the skirt to the middle cleat.

Here are some pictures of the boat skirt the wife and I made to protect the hull from sun damage. I only have to use this skirt about 4 months out of the year, when the sun is low in the horizon. The remaining 8 months the sun is high enough that it does shine into the storage area and on the boat. When the sun is low in the horizon it will only shine of the front portion of the boat and that is why the skirt only covers about 1/2 boat. You could easily build the skirt to cover the complete boat.

I don't tow with the skirt on, it is only used when the boat is stored.

Exactly what I want. Anyone know where to buy something like this?

Bump. Anyone else have a cover like @Andy S?
Are you asking about the skirt? If so, that is a custom piece the wife and I made from fabric we purchased off eBay. I have since sold my Yamaha and we have repurposed the skirt.

I bought a 26'-28' pontoon cover off of Ebay for $189, it covers my entire AR240 and then some. I fold the tower and it will engulf the entire boat. Now you can not drive with this on but it works. I do also keep the mooring cover on so it provides stability to the pontoon cover and it works very well. I only use this for long term storage.

I was talking about the skirt. I am thinking of having one made.

I cost us less than $40 in parts to make our own but I have no idea what a shop would charge you.

I had this made for mine out of black sunbrella. It works great. I have the black cover incoming to replace the putty colored one. With a black hull, I want to keep the sun off of it unless it is in use.

If you have a T Top boat, this place is second to no one for custom top covers. They ain't cheap but they are well designed. I had one on my 24 Bay boat.

File_000.jpeg Here is the one I had added to my stock mooring cover before this season. It has worked great.

That is exactly what I was looking for but couldn't find anyone that could do it. They should sell these.
