Finished my Garmin Echomap 44cv install. Installed transducer on right side of stern so I could run the wire down the right side of boat to the helm. I wanted to mention there's a fuse block with 7 open ports right at the helm. Very easy to use with a fuse tap, or just wire into an open slot with a blade connector like I did. The only issue is boats don't have a common ground like cars, so I had to decide where to hook up the ground wire. I decided on the courtesy light ground, and everything works great. As far as dash mounting, I chose the nice open spot to the right of the gauges. Drilled the 3 mounting holes and a center hole to run the wires directly into and under the mount. As far as picture quality, it works great at all speeds from neutral all the way to WOT. But if it's in reverse, the screen gets pretty fuzzy from all those bubbles. I don't mind that really because the only time I use reverse is to back it off the trailer. So overall I'm very happy with the install.
