Gas Cap Question

I am looking to switch the gas cap from the plastic one on my 2023 AR190 to the chrome style. This one looks to be a match but the white discs circled are in different position than the plastic one on my boat. Does anybody know what these discs do on back of cap? And could I use this one on my boat?
