Hello
Can you guys please give me an estimate of what mpg. Second time out with the boat and got about 2 miles to 1 gallon of 89 octane gas. Going 25 mph. I do know that alot goes into it but I don’t think I could pour it out of a gas can that fast. Thanks for the replys in advance

2.3 mpg in ar210 at that speed. It’s a boat and boats do like gas. I actually find these boats comparable to my old 4cy outboard.

2020 242S and getting about 1.9 overall.. Welcome to boating. Lol

Probably not far off, what were you expecting? You can look at this for a 2019 AR 240 to see consumption rates. You will probably never cross 3 mpg, that is about tops.

I guess I thought it would be better then my old I/o which was a very heavy 25 ft cuddly with a 7.4 merc bravo in it.

Wow. I was on the water for 3 days and spent $400 in gas. Just seems hi. Of course gas at marina is 3.95 gal

I guess it depends on how much and at what burn rate you are running your boat.

Did you check your air filters and spark plugs? Are they in top condition?

ours has been 4.05 gal for 93 for a few years but now the gas has gone up so i filled up yesterday as saw they bumped it up to 5.05. you want to play, you gotta pay i guess. lol

1) Read your manual: no need for anything more expensive than 87 octane in a non-supercharged Yamaha motor.

2) Don't fill up at Marinas if you don't have to. Top off on the way home from boating!

3) My boat's lifetime mileage is 1.8mpg. That's a very small price for all the fun and memories we have together.

So 100 gallons of fuel, and you've got a 50? gallon tank...2 tanks. So around 3/4 of a tank per day. Doing the math, how much was the going rate on good times in your area? Around me, if I have to take all the kids and grandkids, the cost adds up. I end up spending somewhere around priceless, and I just tell them they're spending their inheritance ?

I know you don't mean it that way, but I've put it to my wife this way - you can either spend it on the boat, or spend it elsewhere. Some places, the money flies out faster than others. I will tell you when it's too fast for me, but you're showing me what's too fast by how much you're willing to sacrifice elsewhere to spend it where you appreciate it the most. Let's talk about it later, because we're pot committed at this point.

I'm not looking forward to fuel prices this year, but I've been setting myself up to make it a little easier. Take some fuel along if that's what will stop you from going just that little extra up the river or across the lake, if that'll help ease the burden of not wanting to pay on-water fuel prices. The plus side of the EPA regulations on fuel containers is that the new ones are TONS better at containing fumes, so strap one or two on the transom and pretend you're headed to Bimini!

Buy stock in oil when it's down, use profits to fill boat gas tank when summer rolls around. :D
