Gatlinburg tenn

Looking at the member map I don't see anyone who lives in Gatlinburg Tennessee but a lot of people have not put their location up. Do we have anyone here that lives in Gatlinburg and if so are you and your families alright?

If so, I hope they are OK. Gatlinburg is a popular tourist destination for people who live here in North Georgia. I have been there many times as a kid. I hated to see this happen to the community there. Some of the videos popping up are just insane. There was one I saw of a few guys trying to evacuate down the mountain. It looked like something out of a movie. They were driving through flames and falling burning trees.

I saw that one... it was insane... just like the movies... I'm afraid we don't have a good handle on how much damage was done yet... the rain wednesday helped but it was so hot it may only slowing for awhile..

I live in Knoxville but was in Pigeon Forge today for my work. You can still see the mountain smouldering / smoking. (clear day today) The fire is not 100% contained from what the news is saying

I know Lake Cumberland residents smelled the fire but it looks like they were spared. Insane! We never have stuff like that by us.

I heard arson which is just sad.

i heard the same thing.... we are in central nc and we had smoke from the fire over this area last week.... last i heard 7 were dead and 53 hurt!

Terrible.... love that place. Hiked Mt Le Conte a bunch of ways with a great group of Godly men, rode deals gap the tail of the dragon a bunch, rented cabins near Dollywood, and made great memories at Dollywood with the family.

Even acted like a bunch of Idiots for killboy.com to get our pic on his front page...New his pic spot was coming up so we all put our helmets on (I was driving)

So many good memories of that area.

So Sad. Prayers for the folks in the area.

An Old video of me running the dragons tail from Fontana dam.....I know, PLENTY of mistakes I made. Crossed the line, poor lines, bad gear choice....I didn't have my helmet fastened completely when I took off so I had to fix that while tearing up the hill. Great times....camera fell over and I hit the kill switch at some point in this vid. lost some peg metal on this run. This was only my second run ever. I got much better.
