Was just "drifting" in the lake, watching a rocket launch around dusk, close to weed line and this popped up on my Garmin... Totally looks like gator just lying there on the bottom

I think it's just a log or rocks on the bottom. Maybe your fish/depth finder is better than mine but mine often shows a school of large fish just beneath the stern of my boat no matter where I'm boating but I know that there is no such school there especially on the waters where I can see past the depth the fish are supposed to be.
