I just purchased 2017 scarab 195 open 250 hp. I have 13 hours( purchase with 0 hours)
on the boat. I am not happy how the boat gets on plane. Have to practically red line the RPM (8000-9000);my first jet boat was a skidoo speedster 250 hp got on plane immediately ; the 195 not the same; what am I doing wrong ?

Someone else reported similar issue (@Joker ?), I think, and @ScarabMike had some good advice, maybe he can chime in.
Ok, so from what you are telling us you are having trouble getting to planing speed, you are having a circuit breaker that pops, and the boat seems under powered only reaching 12.9 MPH at 8000 rpm. Also that you have to sit 3 people in the bow to get the boat to settle into a regular riding attitude.

Here is what I think your problem is. There is either an issue with your INR (Intelligent Neutral/Reverse) module, or the electrical system associated with it. Thats why you are getting the codes on the dash "e-reverse". Im thinking the module cannot fully deploy above the pump, and its causing the reverse bucket to stay partially in reverse. This will not allow the boat to push forward because it is fighting against itself. The good news is that its a very easy issue to fix with some troubleshooting skills from your dealer.

Hello; my boat will go 40 mph: but seems to have hard time getting on plane; have to push the throttle all the way down (8000 RPM plus)
That’s with two people at the helm ; is that normal ?

I have a 195 impulse and mine jumps on plane pretty quick. You might wanna talk to the dealer about that.

Does it sound or feel like it is cavitating? My guess is there is something disturbing the intake water flow....bad seal, crappy caulking job or perhaps the impeller is dented or bent?
