Hey all!
Every time I'm out on Ghost lake, I see a handful of jet boats... but y'all aren't very social.
If you see a 2015 jet blue AR240 flying the jetboater.net flag, gimme a "Hey Mr. Moose!" and make my day.

I saw 12+ Yamaha's this past weekend on Winnebago, only one gave me a nod. I was under the impression that part of buying the boat was participating in this forum. :D

They must not be members of the jetboaters.net forum.

The Bow river is one of the rivers that feeds into Ghost Lake. It gets pretty shallow, so not many boats head up the river for a scenic tour. I've run up it a ways quite a few times when I can find a channel that gives me enough depth to feel comfortable, but I've never gone past a spot that has rapids, for obvious reasons. I've only gotten about 300 feet downstream of the rapids, then turned around.

... until a few days ago. During the Bimini-esq adventure, I asked my wife and kids to take pics as we worked our way up through the rapids.
I found a channel that gave me a good 3 feet of water below the boat and I just kept an eye open for boulders, of which there were quite a few. It was kind of neat. I was revving about 2500 rpm and barely moving forward at some spots.
If anybody decides to do this, make sure that you don't have your boat sideways to the current for too long because you'll get swept downstream really quickly... ask me how I know... Nearly sh!t myself as I got swept toward the boulders and had to gun it full rip and turn hard to avoid hitting them. In the end, didn't suck up a pebble, nor did I put a scratch on the bottom... but it was a close call.
Here's the spot on Google Maps:
Rapids upstream of Ghost Lake
Ghost lake is just east (right) of the rapids, downstream.
Just upstream of the rapids, it seems pretty shallow. I swept back and forth across the river and could only find about 2.5 feet (maximum) of water below the boat, and it was mostly 1.5 feet of water below the boat, so I turned around.

I haven’t been up to Ghost, but if I am ever up that way I will say hi for sure. We boat down south on Ridge reservoir just south of Raymond, it’s been a pretty great summer so far hasn’t it?

Best summer in years as far as boating goes. Hopefully, I can get out a few more times before things start to freeze. @jgourlie, how's the wind down there?

@MrMoose haven't been out in a week or so (too windy) but no wind today so we are hitting the lake in an hour or so. Should be a great night :)
