Guest, we are pleased to announce that Hydrophase Ridesteady is offering an extra $100 off for JETBOATERS.NET members on any Ridesteady for Yamaha Speed Control system purchased through March 7th, 2025. Ridesteady is a speed control system (“cruise control”) that uses GPS satellites or engine RPM to keep your boat at the set speed you choose. On twin engine boats, it will also automatically synchronize your engines.
Was looking at the Wake maker ultra kit and haven't picked a bag set up or a wake shaper set up yet looking for ideas. I don't want to do anything twice.
@0627Devildog , turn your phone sideways and you can see.
@Mike hauserWhat town do you live in? If you live close and you would like to check out my boat or take a ride one can be arranged. Starting out I would go with 800 on the surf side swim deck and 800 on the surf side cabin seat minimum. The Wake Wedge makes things easier that's all I am going to say about that. There are tons of threads in the watersports section for some research.
Hey Mike, while I don't have the 242 limited S. . . I believe we basically have the same hull design. That said, JC is right on with ballast placement. I have found that set up can give us a surf able wave in ideal conditions. However, I am hoping the wake wedge I bought will clean it up a bit and provide a better straight line surfing experience.
There are plenty of folks that swear by it which is why I shelled out the dough for it. Will know more after this weekend I hope.

I am in Wentzville. I am really trying to see when I can stick them. out of site if possible I took some measurements and did some to order some custom bags from Wakemakers in the to back compartments I can get 900LB total.
I am hoping to do the same once I finish my dual battery set up on a sliding tray. . . . . After they are in I am going to do my best to set up an automated ballast system like others have done.
Do you surf both sides? If not then getting the same same bags will be useless.
Right now my boat is plumbed for 1180 bag under the port seat along with 130 pounds of batteries, 750 on top of my port seat ( only visible bag) , 800 in my ski locker, and 400 under the starboard seat. 1 pump per bag and a ball valve to fill my seat bag.

Does anyone know if there is now, or if the ability exists to make a custom fit bag for the swim platform. Something, say that takes up on side so you can still get in/out of the water without climbing over a bag? I'm thinking something that is reversible that could be switched from side to side in that symmetrical space.
I just called wake makers and asked about it. . . . BTW - they knew all about you and your Ronix 8.3 . . . . I will take measurements and fill out a form to see what it will cost, and how much weight they think it will add.
They said they could not add gussets/tie offs to it but that white water raft tie offs could be glued into place. Looking into that now.
Jerry you will have to meet mike on the sand bar ! He surfed behind my old 210 , but it was in front of 521 in realy bad conditions !!! Mike I can't wait to see that new boat in person !!!! It looks bad ass !!!!

That's a good idea, I use a 400# bag diagonal on the swimdeck/cleanout hatch, surfside and tie it off but a custom made bag that has a ledge to fit on both levels to cover half the swim deck would work very nice and be interchangeable through a large number of boat models. Depending on how tall you made it but I bet it would easily be 800#

I talked to wakemakers today also they siad i should go with a 800lb in ski locker, and two 400lb on under each rear seat. So a complete 1600lb system. With a extra 80lb from the fresh water tank. I never set a boat up for surfing before just want to make sure it will be worth the 2k. I surf on passager side. My wife will most likly be surfi g on the driver side cause thats how she snowboards. They say its the same set up as the E series boats.
if you plan to put one in the ski locker and buy the pump from them make sure you get a long enough hose, the one they sold me was about 2ft short of being able to reach down into the locker,
