Congrats! That's a beautiful boat! I, too, got a 2016 242 Limited S several weeks ago, and we are loving it!

Congratulations! where do you plan on normally boating ?

very nice boat. I hate to admit it, but I'm already gunning for a larger boat......its not that I don't like my 192, its just bigger is always better!? But I need a steady job before that can even be a thought in my head....damn corona virus......

I love the grey color - nice looking boat. I have a black 2015 but would have preferred the grey.

I was going for a black one until I saw the grey one... love it.. thanks

How can anyone enjoy a pre 2017 1.8 motor Yamaha boat?
They're a ticking time bomb and Yamaha won't help you out anymore.
Timing chain failure is far to common.

Have no fear 2016 and newer owners !!! It is my understanding that ALL 2016s have the newer / upgraded HD timing chains . No reported failures that I know about ? Yamaha was even replacing some of the older 2015s and prior under warranty. Not sure where he got this info ?

My bad, it could be repaired by 2016.
$13,000 repair when one breaks.
Yamaha is no longer helping out at all.........

I did my research and it was fixed as early as 2015...
I double-checked.
It was correct in July 2015 so most every 2015 produced has the weak chain, possibly some early 2016s are affected depending on production date.

I stand corrected... thank you!

I drive my 15 FZS svho like i stole it every time out. I dont worry about it one bit. Not every 14 and 15 blows a chain. I have extended warranty till 2024 and doubt i will keep it that long till i replace it.
It is most likely due to a poorly manufactured batch of chains.
Yamaha produced many thousands of skis and boats with the 1800 engine. And many have been running without breakages with hundreds of hours, some thousands of hours.
And to add to the fact there has been many pre 14 years with breakage and some post 15 with documented breakages on 18 model year with updated larger chains.
Its not as wide spread as you think.

Awesome! Congratulations!

Now, about replacing that bow stop on the trailer... Time to order a Stoltz roller.

Don't worry. That is only the tip of the iceberg. We will help you spend all of your money on that beauty.
