Finally got around to cleaning up, changing plugs and oil for this season. Kinda late. The one child I have left at home wants to go out for "mothers day", so couldn't disappoint.

No issues except I finally stepped on dipstick and broke one. I have one good one, so I can still check both. $21 I may be a cheapskate and wait until it bothers me.

Have a slight pet peeve....I use Mobile 1 and it comes in 5q container at Walmart...$22., pretty good deal. But I use 5.5 or 6q every year and the 6th quart is almost $8. So what to do? Buy 2 5q containers and keep it sitting around for 5-6 more years taking .5-1q every year or complain about the $8 single quart?

I can only get out 2 qts per motor. I’ve tried every trick in the book. Drives me nuts.

If you aren't able to get much out of each engine, there is a bit of a 'trick'... When sucking the oil from the top there is a bit of a 'shelf' in the oil fill container that you need to get by to get to the true bottom. Try poking around with the extractor's hose towards the front side and try and get past the shelf to get deeper into it. The other thing I do is after taking off the oil filter try sucking oil out from that spot too, I get a bit more from there as well.

You aren't going to get all of it out, but you should get more than 2qt per engine...

So here is my thought and experience on that. There is a 1q range on the dipstick between the h/l mark. So you could still be in the acceptable range and be 1q low from "FULL" but not "OVERFILLED". The other thing I noticed is that changing the oil filter takes some oil...not much but perhaps 1/4q.

With that said, I've found that when I'm half way up dipstick warm on water, checking the way you should according to manual, I will get about 2-2.25 q out sometimes more/sometimes less and with changing the filter you will put more back in to compensate for filter, what drained out of filter pipe, etc. So that would put you at 2.25-2.75 going back in. That is typical for me. I had one engine I got out a little over 2q and one engine I got out over 2.5q....again, I think it's the minor difference of being in good range but not totally full.

I know that if you run for a little bit you will get more, and if you are at top of dipstick full mark you will get more, and I'm sure you all poke around until you get in the hole that let's you get about .5q more.

I only fill mine to where it’s barely touching the stick. Last time I even warned up the motor and after I drained it I turned the motor over to pump more out. I attached a socket extension to the hose so I could try and get more out. None of it really helped.
