In the market for a GPS/Fish-finder combo for my 2016 Yamaha 242 Limited S. I am getting ready to explore new locations and I know I will need that helpful addition to my boat. Also, any preferred installation location on my dash?

Thanks,

I have the 43cv. 4" screen vs 7".

I installed Garmin 93 SV and put it where my phone holder was using a swivel mount. Was going to put it in the dash but I could"nt see it when standing up.

Does your model year have the twin RPM gauges? If so and you don't need them, you might be able to remove them and cut the dash to put in a chartplotter/finder? If not, then there's some RAM-mount suggestions that seem they'll work nicely.

I was able to remove the phone holder and put an Axiom 7 plotter right into the dash on my model. Just tape and mark the template, and use a dremel to cut it out. I removed my dash panel to do it on a bench, but no need to do that if you're careful and take your time.

I just installed Ray Marine Axiom 7 and transducer. The software interface on the Axion 7 is flawless and quick. I have a similar boat (2016 242LS) so I'll show you some pictures on how I had mine mounted (just need to uncover the boat this weekend to get a recent pic). Extremely happy with it.

This is a good point to keep in mind! I need to remember this when the time comes.
