GPS slow to connect ?

Is anyone having the same issues with their gps speedo and maps, almost every time I go for a ride it takes sometimes 15 or 20 min before the GPS connects and displays MPH or maps. I’ve tried shutting down the boat and turning off electrical but it doesn’t seem to have any affect, it just connects when it connects, it started doing this just this year. I guess what I’m asking is is there a separate antenna for the gps signal or is it internal to the computer system or do I have a lazy satellite over Jacksonville Fl that doesn’t like me ? I’m going to start turning on the elect and ignition before I leave the driveway in hopes that the gps will be connected by the time I reach the water haha.

I had a aftermarket gps speedo on my old boat and if I took off before It did it’s thing it took a while to find a signal. As far as connects system I’ve only used my boat twice and haven’t had any issues so far.

Just a guess, It may be due to the GPS reset earlier this month.
