Has anyone added grab handles at the anchor locker? This is one of the mods I'm going to do before this season.

If you have done this mod or know what length grab handle to use please let me know so I can order it. These grab handles make it 10X easier to use the bow ladder. I want to know the size because I may not use the Yamaha brand.

@Ronnie has them. I have been considering this mod too. I think it is the same grab handle as the swim deck.

Jaws is right. I ordered two of those from Yamaha sports plaza in Seattle. I think all the hardware is separate so I had to order the washers and nuts or bolts as well. All told it was under a hundred dollars and maybe an hour or so of time, which includes some to really consider if you are ready to take a drill to your boat (4x). Access is through the anchor locker of course.

I will try and post a pic tomorrow since I just realized I don't have any pics on my iPad and the site I have a lot of posts on including those on point here is still down.

Rhetorical question: If/when YJB comes back online will it be "acceptable" to post links to that site?

The rules for this site say it is OK.

Looked at this last year and thought what a great idea! And now thanks to this great board reminding me to spend more money I just ordered the parts from Yamaha Sports plaza, $101.39 shipped. I used the same handles identical to the ones already in the boat.

I just took an over the cover measurement. The handles are just under 12" long end to end.

@Ronnie Everyone is free to post links to any site they want (with some exceptions...like porn or virus sites). Now I can't guarantee that all sites will not block re-directs from us - but I hope not. Freedom is one of our founding pledges!

@Ronnie thanks for the measurements. I got this idea from your post on the other site. It only makes sense, we have a grab handle at the stern ladder so why not one at the bow!

I like the idea of buying the grab handles from Yamaha so they match. The reason I'm not buying from Yamaha is one of the bow grab handles has rust around where it mounts to the boat. I had the dealer address the issue twice and I'm pretty sure all they did is take out the bolt clean and reinstall. For this reason I am spending my money somewhere else.

Anyway that being said, I have seen some good ss grab handles on ebay, from reputable boat part companies, that come with ss mounting hardware.
