It's a great place, we love it here. Awesome beaches and not too touristy. We moved here from Des Moines, IA, 3 years ago.
I'm trying to get the wife to leave Wisconsin
We had been vacationing around St. Pete for 4-5 years and decided after our spring break trip in 2016 that we'd had enough Iowa winters (didn't help that we also hit a blizzard around St. Louis on the drive home) and made the move 4 months later. My wife hates cold weather more than I do so there was no persuasion necessary. We both have family in Iowa still but that isn't a huge issue because when you live in a place like this, especially with a boat, everyone wants to visit as much as possible.
