After reading @CrankyGypsy thread about the rot in his boat I was amazed at how much wood is in these boats. I never knew! When I installed my SeaDek I didn't have or use any sealant where the screw holes were from the carpet snaps. I figured if any water would make it beneath the SeaDek then it would eventually make its way to the bilge which obviously is not the case. Now I'm nervous if I keep it that way. I'm wondering if anyone has pulled up SeaDek and were able to reuse it? I was thinking of laying my carpet back out so I will know exactly where the holes should be from the snaps and then maybe pull just those areas up to add some sealant. To get the adhesive to stick again I was thinking of using my heat gun and maybe some sealant on the adhesive to help. Do you think this could work?
