For all you Florida folks, is there some must do's while we are there?? I did see where we can rent a boat which I thought might be kind of cool to cove out one day. Any recommendations for dinner or places that you would avoid. Thanks!!

Jim

I am not from Florida; however, we went to Sanibel all the time when I was younger. I remember the Bubble Room on Captiva being a real neat place. They also had crab races at Crow's Nest, Tween Waters Inn (captiva) that was always a good way to pass the time.

I too used to frequent Sanibel as a kid....back when Sanibel and Captiva were two separate islands with a pass between them, then the passed completely filled in, and since then a storm reopened the pass!

We enjoyed the Ding Darling nature preserve....no idea what its like now!

Light lunch at the lighthouse cafe and fantastic ice cream from Pinocios next door, both at the southern end of Sanibel by the light house beach.

We enjoy Sanibel but from a beach point of view, we enjoy boating further north though, around Gasparilla island and Cayo Costa.
