I have bought and installed a Helix 5 on my 2016 Yamaha 242 Limited S. I placed the transducer at the bottom of my engine bay (humminbird support said it is ok) but it doesn't show correct depth, sometimes it shows 1042 or 1033 feet, not sure what I am missing here.
Should I place the transducer on the outside bottom of the boat?

Thanks in advance!

I do not think your set up will work that way…. the transducer needs to be in the water.. what do the paper instructions say about mounting ?
