It won't be long before I can test this in some rough waters to see how well the cupholder mount works holding this monster. I worked with my dealer a few days on this trying to find the best location for the Unit then placement of the transducers.

The key on the transducers is to keep them out of the motor wash and high enough on the rear of the boat so they don't stick out below the bottom and get ripped off. Will be testing them out this weekend and follow up with how well they work.

Clean install!

What is the benefit of dual transducers?

Keeping the dealer's cash flowing in....LOL
Because of the articulating keel the transducer side imaging gets blocked on one side or the other. Humminbird has a Y cable that allows you to split the transducers reading from each half into a single picture.

On my bass boat it was easy to mount it behind the motor and as you can see in the photo below there is nothing blocking the unit. On the jet boats there is no way to mount the unit below the motor without exposing it below the hull. Looked at thru hull transducers but Humminbird said this was the best setup.

I did this last year with my AR240 and my 698ci si. Works great.

I'm curious as to how well that picks up at speed?

Not sure about @Billy Marlin but mines works great all the way to top speed in both fresh and salt water.

Mine reads up up to about 29 mph without an issue.

Looks good, I'm looking to fit a lowrance hds unit with structure scan,
Finding a good spot for that long transducer is going to be a challenge.
