Hey guys, first boat in March and thankful for finally finding this website. Have already spent some time reading through a couple of threads and FAQ. Got a 2017 Scarab 195; the dealer was supposed to do an "on the water" demo to introduce me to the boat, and the buttons and stuff... but of course with the Covid19 going on that was no longer an option. I may call back later, but in the meantime I am trying to teach myself. Hoping someone here can help me with a more technical question. This weekend I noticed when I pushed the throttle, the RPMs went way up. The engine also got loud and sounded to our un-boat-educated ears like it was struggling... like a car with a standard transmission that needed to be shifted into a higher gear. I told the passengers with me that based on my reasearch, that may not be unusual for jet boats, but they insisted it didn't seam right and that I should take it back to the dealer for repairs.
As FYI, Before taking possession of the boat, I had them to do an engine pressure check and change the plugs, and put 91 octane gas in the boat, which was almost empty.
Sorry for the long first post and if this type of question should be elsewhere. Thanks all,
oh here is the boat
