First of all, this place is an absolute treasure trove of information and I can’t thank you guys enough for posting so much useful info!

I’ve just started looking at getting back into boating and being back on the lake all summer. I previously owned a 2001 XR1800 about 10 years ago which was an amazing little boat. The wife and I loved it but starting a family and changes in work forced us to sell it.

10 years and 3 kids later were Looking to get into another Yamaha this summer and make some memories like I had growing up on Flathead Lake in Montana.

I just wanted to chime in and say hello and thank you guys for contributing to this forum!

What are you looking at? 19, 21, 24 or the new 27 foot?

This forum helped my jet boat shopping tremendously. Good luck

We’re looking at used 212’s or 240’s. With 2 adults and 3 kids as our normal load I’d really like the power of the twin 1.8’s. Plus most of our friends and family have 2 kids as well so more than likely if we invite people it’s gonna be 4 adults and 5 kids. Would love the room of a 240.

I don’t really care about doing 50mph across the lake, I’d just like to pull some tubes and maybe wakeboard with a full load of people and gear.

I’d like to be under 40k so new is out of the question. We were at the Spokane boat show a few weeks ago and I couldn’t believe what the prices of boats were! They made the 242 e series Yamaha look like a bargain at 75k! Who pays $218,000 for a wakeboard boat!

Welcome aboard! Good to have another body in Eastern Washington!

glad to have you on board, keep us updated on your search,

The prices have skyrocketed. However, you should find some fantastic used boats out there, and especially on here if you ask around.

I’ve definitely seen some nice boats on here and I’m willing to travel but I’m not going 1,000 miles to get one! Finding one in the Pacific Northwest is a little tougher. Trying to stay away from salt water boats on the coast too. I’d be willing to travel to WY, UT, NV areas. Seen a few on boat trader but nothing that jumps out. Luckily we’re not in a hurry so I’m just waiting for the right boat.

A used AR230 or 212X can be found for under 30 and would suit your family well.
We are here to help.

I know it’s a trek but Lynwood, Olympia and about 30 minutes south of us have Yamaha dealerships..

So it looks like I’m going to pick up a 2018 AR195 next weekend! Lol. I know it’s not what I was planning but the wife and I really fell in love with it and it would fit what our family needs right now. I told her our friends can buy there own boat if they want to get on the lake! It’s a leftover 18 from a dealer with Rockford 8” tower speakers and amp installed... super clean boat. It was used as a demo so has some hours on it but only things I noticed were a scuff in the SeaDek on the swim platform and some scuffs on the hull from loading on the trailer... just surface scuffs... $34,200 OTD... with premium mooring cover.

Happy dance
