I guess I should say hello. Been using the site for a couple of months, great info and help. Bought my AR230 07 in May 2014. I boat in the upper cheasapeake and sometimes in the little chop tank MD (Cambridge)

Family of 4 - me and 3 girls (8 & 10)

Here are my first year notes:

1. Thrust Vector XL fins are a wise purchase
2. Backup battery is a wise modification
3. Docking a jet boat takes practice with trial and error.
4. Need good hose pressure to run engines on land, if not they will overheat.
5. Clean out plugs:
5.1 - buy repair kit
5.2 - Practice the reverse, kill engines open throttle trick.
6. Blue tooth to RCA input for radio is another wise purchase. (makes wife happy)
7. Buy a good oil sucker….cheap ones don’t work
8. Check oil every trip, understand the min and max levels on dipstick, and carry extra quart onboard.
9. Plug replacement is very easy, ensure to add anti-seize on plugs.
10. Don’t rip a seat b/c the grey scale fabric is hard to find, so you may need to buy a new seat….ouch.
11. Maguire’s disk break removal cleans trailer rims like a champ.
12. Trailing a boat is like docking, it takes practice.
13. Surge breaks make noise, its normal
14. Continuous trailer squeaking can mean you have a caliper locked-up. Replace ASAP. (pretty easy to do)
15. Buy a grease gun; learn how to add grease to our trailer hubs.

Goal for 2015 - mod it up - (tower speakers (M282) / amp (XC1410) / blackfin turf / boat buckels

Mat - I will add a signature soon. (p.s I hate winter)

Welcome Aboard!

Welcome aboard and hope you have another season of happy and safe boating.

Welcome aboard! I see you also put your zipcode in your location for the ultimate accuracy on the member map!!!

glad to have you on board, buy your kids a knee board at least but it won't take much and they can wake board or surf,

Scottintexas - (nice boat)

Agreed on the knee board. I want to learn how to surf and wakeboard. First mission is to get wife comfortable with driving.

I may have taken a step backward by lets my girls watch the OG jaws movie last week.....lol.

Scottintexas - follow up question, how did you run your speaker tower wire from tower tubing into your haul? Did you do it like (Justason) from my earlier post?

@Blazin14 my was already installed when I bought it but it looked very similar to the link you attached,

If you're planning on water sports I would tell you to get the perfect pass system, it's expensive but really makes the drivers job a lot easier,

Welcome aboard! Sounds like you learned quite a bit this past year! So this season will be all about having fun. :Welcome:

Lol

Thats funny because our first trip to Shelbyville was the same as a shark week special! When not on the boat we were watching sharks!

Welcome aboard @Blazin14! As you have already seen, great people and a lot of information on this site.

Welcome aboard @Blazin14. Glad to have you.

Good list of observations!
