Hello- I have a 2014 Yamaha SX 240 HO. Port engine keep going into limp mode and displaying engine overheat. No obstructions in Impeller, pump or the intake block located on the pump. The temp sensor is located under the intake manifold and is a decent job to get at unless I'm not seeing another way. The plug has no corrosion but is pretty loose. Slides back and forth easily. It overheats on a hose at at low rpm within 1 or 2 minutes. The engine does not seem hot. Can I jump the wires and test the sensor as i do not believe the engine is really hot. In the water the pea holes blow water just fine and both water streams seem to be close in temperature by feel. Unless I'm wrong and it's not a big job I could switch sensors between engines. Any thoughts? Thanks

You have to put the help request in the body text not the title.

Did you run the boat really shallow with sandy bottom? If so, you may have sucked in sand to the cooling system.

Are you on the water now or at the house?

At the bar! No I haven't been in sand. Its pooring rain now. I flushed the system through the ports in the back is there a different way to find an instruction. Even if it has an obstruction would it throw an overheat code that quick?

You did check the plugs correct? If a plug is out and one is in you will have power but the one that the plug is unseated will not have enough back pressure to cool the engine.
