Help with bimini repair

Recently bought a 2006 SX230 HO with a busted bimini. I'm trying to get it back to 100%, but I need some help identifying the function of some small connector pieces that are on the back of the frame. There is one on each side and I can see them in photos online, but I can't determine their function. The owner's manual isn't much help either. Can someone fill me in on what these parts do and where they connect. There appears to be some sort of wire rope connection, but it's snipped or broken on mine.

Is this a factory Yamaha Bimini top?
Could it have come from another boat? The snipped wire will hold the split ring on locking pin so they don’t get lost.

I can't be sure it's the factory top, but my guess is that it is. I did find pictures of other boats with the parts (see photo).

I think you're right about the missing wire. That's one mystery solved. Every single pin for the bimini is missing. You gotta wonder about people sometimes.

Those are the short legs so that you can lay the bimini down and support it with the short legs so it does not damage the gelcoat.

I actually have both pieces. Neither is attached to the frame anymore. I imagine the top of the leg can be permanently connected to the frame and the bottom of the leg gets a pin so it can pivot out to attach to the boat. Shouldn't be a problem to get more pins.

I see that all the time going up and down I75 between Brandon and Sarasota. ?

It seems that a lot of the pieces are no longer available but the pins you are looking for can be sourced through most marine suppliers. You will need to drill the existing rivets out and rivet the new ones back in place. I actually have some that I bought through Amazon. I will look later and get the information off the packag.
