Hi all, first boat, super excited. Wife and I picked up a 2021 scarab 165 today. Can’t seem to find a boat cover anywhere for 2021s! I have the shipping tarp it came with from factor but would like better protection. Any suggestions? Maybe an Amazon cover that would fit?

Most Yamaha Parts are hard to come by due to Covid. Lots of the Yama guys use the shipping cover until it falls apart.

Seems to be the problem. I’ll keep rockin the tarp. Was curious as to maybe there’s a similar boat cover that may work. Might get a strap down from Amazon for time being.

Wow - Awesome boat - Congratulations!!

Just a recommendation from our experience.... We went with this Classic Accessories one vs OEM due to price (the budget for needed life jackets, boat tow toys/accessories kept us out of OEM prices), and this is a known good brand (all our deck furniture covers are this brand after years of trials and errors with others. For the price - they are quality, perform great and have nice features).

They have a D size that should fit your 165, as well as other models.
For this “water resistant” model we got - Definitely wanted to get a spray can of flex seal (or similar) on all the critical seams, and add some proper support poles (and webbing straps for the winter storage) to get the water-runoff/fit we needed for our 21’. ( The actual waterproof model from this brand is probably just waterproof out of the bag). I like the fit/coverage well low down over the sides - that keeps the boat’s top surfaces and rail seams covered and clean. I don’t tow cover on regardless, so I can’t give comment on that, but with vents, fit and features it should be reasonably okay for that .

This is great, thanks Dfred!

You might go and check out Empire covers… I have one that I use most of the time on my boat.

When it comes to boat cover, I only depend on Classic Accessories StormPro. What made me satisfied is that it has a lot of room to spare for the engine and some boat accessories. It became more interesting when I found out that this is perfect for mooring and highway travel.
