Does anyone have a good source for high quality tinned copper 4gauge pos and neg amp cable sold by the foot ? upgraded amp to JL marine MHD900/5 and can't use the existing kicker 8 gauge.
I used this non-tinned oxygen-free cable in my 2014. No corrosion after 3 years. For DC current, a higher count, finer strand is my most important feature I want.
Maybe tinned is more important in the salty locations?
Strand count is for the flexibility not current flow. DC voltage does not have a "skin effect" as AC does.
Remember If it is Car Audio size it is not true to spec CA 4ga is = to 2awg cable when buying
Also when they list the max amp on these non CA cables it is at 25'-50' not the 10-15' you would need. But cutting the length in half does not = double the max amp
When looking at fuses you are fusing for the wire/ cable not the amp it's self.
