My understanding is its a private island so if the owners don't want the general public that makes total sense to me. I have seen how people have left lots of trash their in the past thus justifying the decision.

I would not be surprised if trashing the place was a driving force to making “landfall“ off limits.. I’ve seen that in many other instances.. hey, wasn’t there a story on here a while back about some island in south Florida that was made off limits for the same reasons? Garbage and such left behind by irresponsible persons?

I would think for $100 per head tourist paid, Bimini get portion of it so they prioritize the cruise tourist vs private boater that just pays flat entry tourist fee and not a lot compared to cruise ship that have thousands of passengers, even if just 300 of them take the honeymoon harbor tour per day, thats still more than the private boaters fee they take on a daily basis.

Our last Bimini trip over the summer we were enjoying our time there, just a couple boats in the area when an excursion boat with 50+ folks waddled off and took over the place. Obviously not like I own the place but that's the first time I'd ever seen it swarmed like that. I know that I'm a relative newcomer to it all but I think this is just another cash domino that's changing the island/area for better or worse.
