As I was inspecting the jet drive for our boat, I noticed the hose coming off the jet going to the raw water wash down was to short and had a bad kink in it.
Has anyone else noticed that and if corrected did it improve water pressure at the hose and nozzle?

@JDinfla Glad to have you on board, make sure to check out the FAQ for lots of great info,

Those FSH seem to be popular in FL. I've not seen any mention that problem before.

Do you feel like your not getting good pressure when you use the wash down? It seems like it would be an easy fix to splice a longer piece in or even run a new hose,

Not alot of pressure. I will be replacing the kinked hose going to the wash down and seeing if that helps.

Good idea to repair the kink but alas, the FSH pee stream seems to be the norm at least from most reports on this site.

Welcome aboard!

This is very subjective as everyone's water pressure, garden hose diameter, and other variables are different. Both the volume and pressure of water from a home is LESS than that when water is moving into the pump intake on the water. Some report no pee hole flow when flushing, others report sporadic flow, no one reports good flow. Hmm, sounds like my prostate! That kink in the hose is an issue for sure, so either take it in to the dealer, or better yet, change the hose yourself!

Ill be replacing the hose with one slightly longer and checking it out this weekend.
This only runs with the boat in the water .

We might need to ask Yamaha to re-label the control to Jet Bucket Filler. Saves your back so you don't have reach over the gunnel to fill your deck wash bucket. :p

Replaced the hose last week, better pressure now. Not as good as I hoped though. Still with the hose length I can spray the whole boat now.

Old thread here, but

Dealer replaced my kinked hose (under warranty) w a clear braided hose.
I tested it out yesterday while under way "at speed".
It had really good pressure with the engine screaming.

Tip.
Have the first mate hose down the boat while heading back to port.

After reading your post I went through and checked my hoses and discovered the front fish locker drain house was smashed between to upper cockpit liner as hull when. They were fitted together. There's a molded in gutter for the hose but it must have slipped out of that area when assembled. So the house was smashed flat to 50% of it's capacity. I was able to get a broom stick behind it and pull it out and drop it down into the gutter area where it should be.

Mine is still smashed half flat in what sounds like the same place. Haven't tried the broom stick pry yet. Figured it was probably immovable. I'll give it whirl. Just another one of those little quality control items missed.

You'll need to pull on the hose as well. That will stretch it a bit and help slide it into place

Sounds good. Thanks.
First though, I'm taking a little trip up to th.jpg the mountains for a couple of days.
You think you've got low power at sea level, you should try up here. :)

Also noticed that the fish box drain goes up hill to exit the side of the boat. I may switch mine to the first through hull fitting to see if I can level it out and move the floor drain hose to the fitting closer to the transom.

Sorry to bring up this old thread but I'm trying to add a wash down sprayer on my boat. My plan is to have a small tank that I fill with filtered lake water that I can then pump through a hose and spray nozzle. But I'm trying to figure out where and what to tap into to easily get a supply of lake water. And of course I don't want to screw up the cooling of my engine or anything on my boat while I'm filling the tank, and I don't want my engine sucking the water out of my storage take ether. Any help would be greatly appreciated with hose size details too if you know them.
