How can I replace this cable/lanyard on the bimini top pole?
It appears to be held onto the pole with a rivit?
I have the part but don't know how to attach it.
It attaches to the "pin" that holds the top into the bracket/
Thanks! JimIMG_1370.JPG

good idea, I had that type on my last boat....it was much much better than the pins.
Guess I could also just try drilling out the rivet and using a pin/ lanyard.

I second @tdonoughue 's suggestion! Did the exact same thing to my boat!

Same thing happened to me after a time.

I drilled out the rivet and just put a screw in there. Then I replaced the end into which that pin fits with this:

Works wonderfully and never looked back...

Did the old screw holes from the previous mount in the boat line up with the new one you bought? I don’t want to have to drill extra holes in my boat.

Thanks!

I think they did... But that was a long time ago. I've slept since then. But if not, it is only a little hole. And not even in the fiberglass.

I drilled out the rivet too; but made a new lanyard using a crimp ring terminal on each end of a short piece of blue wire (to match my boat) and a little marine shrink tube. I used a new pop rivet through one ring terminal into the bimini pole and spun the key ring that Holds the pin into the other ring terminal.
