can anyone give me guidance on using one of the accessory switches? I assume I simply connect the power wire to the unused male plug, but am not sure about the black wire. can I just splice into the negative wire associated with the unused switch, or do I need to connect to battery ground somewhere else? Any help is appreciated!

A typical simple switch makes the connection across the break in just one wire. Some switches have a ground so they can be lighted. Another factor is the switches amp rating. I recommend that you get some on site assistance for this.

The FSH has spare accessory switches included from the factory. I assume those have breakers as well.

My big question would be whether that switch is switching the positive or negative. You could use a multimeter to check this.

Does the owners manual say anything about these switches?

I've posted a picture of the back side of the accessory switch in the changing room. With an volt meter, I confirmed all red wire connections are hot (12v). The bare connector is not hot until the switch is turned on, then 12v. That's where you should connect your 12v supply line. Your ground wire needs to be spliced into the black ground wire. I hooked my Garmin that way to confirm.
