Ok team looking for some ideas. I am getting a new 2021 212XD on Friday and I am puzzled on how to store the kids (damn) Maui Mat. Any ideas? Would love to see some photos of you have them. Thanks! Happy boating!

Don't have any pics but mine is 6 by 15. It fits in-between the indentions on the swim platform perfectly. I use an extremely tight bungy cord, one side to each cleat (I mean so tight if you let go of one side it might put your eye out...lol) It rolls down to the lower level when under way but stays put even doing 50mph. I have seen others use a rope thru a pool noodle and then tie of to each cleat (I assume the noodle is so the mat doesnt get damaged by the rope?

This is great info thanks. I am looking for a bungee that will work well. Have you seen anyone tie it to their tower? Sorry if that is a stupid question.

I use a rope from grab handle to the lower tow point to secure mine while underway. Too big to go on the tower.

Same as everyone else, I store mine on the swim deck. I secure using cam strap between to the rear cleats. Easy to get snug so the mat doesn’t move, just be careful the metal cam end doesn’t scratch the gel coat.

Do you connect the two straps together and run them through the tunnel of the pad or do you buckle each end separately to the Velcro straps?

This is what I do while underway. I have a designated rope with loops and both ends and looping around the bottom most grab handle and then loop it to the lower tow point and it never moves even with the kids crawling all over it.

The strap is 10’ long and has an S-hook at each end, so I just put the strap down the center tunnel of the rolled-up mat and attach each hook to a rear cleat. Then cinch it tight with the cam buckle. I have a 195 so it only takes one strap to hold the mat in place.

Save yourself the hassle and buy a blow up version… highly recommend the Mission Reef Mat…. Then just put it in the ski locker when done!

I am debating this right now. Not a fan of lugging the giant mat around and looking at inflatable options.

We got ours to help with the dogs who constantly fetch. Although I rigged a way for them to climb up on the swim deck, they still need help, so when they’re in the boat, they are 100% maintenance. We just got the lily pad and it has been great so far. They can walk around on it and can get up on it on their own. That’s the only reason I’m not going inflatable though. I did just throw it in the bow or the seats in the back and it rode just fine, but not ideal with a lot of people.

The inflatable ones are shockingly expensive. I just looked them up.

Worth every penny… and no issues with dogs on them as well. They are built with thick zodiac type material. You can find deals on them… I paid $549 on Black Friday for my Mission Reef Mat.
